Founded by Richard Muzi Msimango, Madlela Phezulu Auto Body Repair has grown into a trusted name for vehicle restoration and maintenance in Rocky’s Drift. The business offers a comprehensive range of services, including panel beating, spray painting, car maintenance and mechanical suspension repairs. Whether a vehicle has been in an accident or simply needs a fresh coat of paint, the dedicated team at Madlela Phezulu is equipped to bring it back to life.

Msimango, originally from Kanyamazane, started Madlela Phezulu Auto Body Repair in 2016. The road to success was far from easy. After completing matric, Msimango struggled to find stable employment, taking on odd jobs until a compassionate mentor introduced him to panel beating. This experience ignited his passion for the craft and he has never looked back. “When a car is damaged, it’s like reviving a person to live again,” says Msimango, whose commitment to quality keeps him awake at night if a car under his care isn’t yet fully restored.

The business truly began to flourish after receiving support from the City of Mbombela. The municipality provided essential training, certified the team and supplied much-needed tools resources that are still in use today. With this support, Madlela Phezulu expanded its staff and now employs eight people from the community.

Beyond car repairs, the business plays a vital role in local job creation and skills development. Msimango’s journey also stands as proof to perseverance and the transformative power of mentorship. He hopes Mbombela Municipality will continue its support, perhaps by bringing some of its own fleet to Madlela Phezulu for repairs a gesture that would further sustain and grow the enterprise.

For Msimango and his team, every car is more than just a machine; it’s a life waiting to be revived.
